Monthly Archives: August 2012

Sunset is my favourite part of the day: the great light, that makes everything look better (if my hair was fine, I could only wear one of those horrible Sainsbury’s orange plastic bags wrapped around me and I would look just perfect in the sunset light) / the way people are relaxed and prepare for dinner / the right temperature / and just how everything looks so much prettier ( I have already mentioned that, haven’t I?).

I am writing now from London and weather is horrible.

Sun must hate London.

However, I keep a smile upon my face seeing these photos. I came back yesterday after a 17 day holiday in South of France and I already miss everything from there.

If anyone will ever stop me in the street and tell me they could grant me any wish I want, I would certainly ask for a house somewhere in South of France (somewhere between Cannes and Antibes, more precisely). I could easily live there for the rest of my life with my actual-boyfriend-hopefully-future-husband and all the children we would have. We would eat (smelly) cheese and baguettes, and have lavender and sand all over the house. I would be so angry with all the sand in our everything, but then the then-boyfriend-now-my-husband would force me to kiss him and feel all the salt on his lips (Mediterranean sea is extremely salty). I would be even angrier than before, but our children would jump around and make funny faces and we would all start to laugh and run into the sea and be stung by a jellyfish. I would panic and grab my phone to call the ambulance, and my then-boyfriend-now-CONFIDENT-husband would tell me that it would be fine if we just pee on our sting.

Back to present, I love Cannes and anything related to it: the small, sometimes-crowdy-sometimes-intimate-beaches; the clean, salty sea; the local, chic restaurants, where everyone eats moules marinières; the-garlic-and-parsley-smell everywhere; the obsession with lavender (and olive oil); the white clothes that are on everyone; the luxurious hotels (Carlton especially); the annual ‘Festival d’Art Pyrotechnique de Cannes’ (which I totally adore and which I am going to watch live this evening at http://www.festival-pyrotechnique-cannes.com/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=2).
And everything else I can’t remember right now.

Enjoy!

p.s.: there are many more to come in the next couple of days.
